Teacher – Part-time Floater – All Classes

Karla Hailer worked in the Newton and Wellesley public schools supporting students of all abilities for six years before coming to Cornerstone Academy.  She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Framingham State University and an Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons College. Before going into teaching, she worked in high-tech doing quality assurance, technical support and technical writing. 

She managed the children’s section of the Borders Books and Music in Chestnut Hill and taught people how to use computers and devices at the Apple Store in Chestnut Hill.  For seven years, she wrote a weekly column for Community Newspapers looking at local issues and has been an active member of the Boston Area National Novel Writers Month group for almost a decade. 

Ms. Hailer raised 3 boys, all in college and beyond now, and lives in Newton with her husband, sons and her two cats: Odin and Data.
